Christmas Party Ideas for Small Companies in Munich

Blurred photo of the Hall of Fame at Bahnwärter Thiel with the question: Only 15 people?

Christmas party ideas for small companies in Munich: graffiti at a legal wall or action painting on canvas, from €129 pp net, a piece to keep.

A Christmas party doesn't need a stage to still be the office story in January. Pub.tech brought around 15 people to the Hall of Fame at Bahnwärter Thiel in the Schlachthofviertel. What went up on the wall was a word the company has treated as its own ever since: JOY.FUSE, short for joy of use. Each small group stood with its own can at its own section of the wall, and nobody watched from the side.

That is exactly where many plans for small teams get stuck: anyone searching for Christmas party ideas in Munich finds lists of venues, menus and shows built for a hundred guests. For 15 to 30 colleagues that feels either too big (stage, agenda, host) or too small (dinner only, nothing to talk about afterwards). Here are the criteria you can hold against your team and your budget, numbered so you can tick them off.

In short: a Christmas party for a small company in Munich runs with us as a graffiti workshop at the legal wall at Bahnwärter Thiel or as action painting on canvas in your own rooms, for 10 to 30 people from €129 per person net, with a piece to take home and no stage moment.

1. Group size sets the price tier, not the format

Our graffiti workshops run from 10 people up to 1,000, action painting from 15 up to 500. Small companies sit at the bottom of a range built for corporations: you don't book a mini version, you get the same set-up as a team of 200, just with fewer stations. Only eight of you? We don't turn small groups away, not even three. You are then billed at the lowest tier of the scale, because travel, set-up and the guide cost the same however many people paint.

2. The price per head drops with the group, so a small team pays the top tier

The scale is €129 per person for 15 to 20 people, €109 up to 25, €99 up to 50, €89 up to 100 and €79 from 101, each net plus 19% VAT. A small company lands at €129 or €109. The advertised from-€79 rate is for the big company-wide party. Knowing that before you ask saves you explaining to management why the invoice came in above the number on the website. The price includes travel, material transport, paint, protective covering, supervision and the permit for the legal wall. On a tighter budget, the street art tour through the Werksviertel is an option from €35 per person, app-guided, no guide on site.

3. No stage moment, everyone works on their own surface

At the quiz in front of the whole company, the casino night with a host or the year-end speech, sooner or later one person stands in front of everyone else. In a graffiti workshop each small group sprays its own section of the wall, in action painting each team stands at its own canvas, in parallel, without an audience. Nobody needs experience. IFCO came to the Werksviertel with around 15 to 20 people, pierced spray cans and sprayed one big word together at the same time: whoever wasn't at the wall had a can in hand. Nobody had to watch.

4. A piece stays behind, not just a memory

At IFCO everyone took home a randomly drawn single piece at the end, with a white edge from the masking tape that works like a passe-partout. T.con turned one lunch break in the Werksviertel into a 40-square-metre communal graffiti piece, and everyone also got a small painted paper for their desk. For a small company that is the difference from a dinner: dessert is over by the end of the evening, a picture on the office wall still points back to the party in spring. If weather and location allow it, the drone goes up for the group photo in front of your wall.

5. Wall outside or canvas inside, that is the December question

The graffiti workshop happens at a legal wall, and that wall is outdoors: at Bahnwärter Thiel or in the Werksviertel by Ostbahnhof, and we obtain the permit. Personio did exactly that in December 2024, around 60 people in six teams, each team with its own word on the wall. If you'd rather be indoors in December, you switch format: action painting runs on canvas in your own rooms or a hall, with acrylic as the standard. For a small company that is the first planning question: cans outside or canvas inside. Whether to do a workshop at all answers itself after that.

6. The evening around it is yours to plan, and it is quick to organise

We bring the programme. Venue and food are yours to organise. Ruby Hotels solved that for 40 people like this: dinner at La Favela first, then painting on at Bahnwärter Thiel until 9:30 pm, almost into the dark. The lettering on the wall at the end read RubyVerse. For small groups the reverse order is usually easier: afternoon at the wall or canvas, evening on foot from there. If you spray in the Werksviertel, the Christmas market on Knödelplatz in Werksviertel-Mitte is right outside the door. How full Munich's calendar gets in autumn, and why the December window before the Christmas market rush stays quiet, is in the trade fair and Wiesn calendar for Munich.

7. The invoice has to be explainable internally before anyone books

In small companies one person rarely decides alone: management looks at price and impact, whoever signs off the invoice wants terms that fit in two sentences. So here are the facts you can forward: a quote within 24 hours of your request with headcount and preferred period. Payment is before the date, by invoice to your accounts team or directly when booking in the shop. Up to 30 days before the date you cancel free of charge, after that the full amount is due. FAQ

Does anyone have to present in front of the group?

No. Each small group works on its own surface, there is no stage moment and no performance in front of colleagues.

From how many people can we book a Christmas party with you?

Graffiti from 10 people, action painting from 15. We don't turn smaller groups away, you are then billed at the lowest tier of the price scale.

What does a Christmas party cost for 15 to 20 colleagues?

€129 per person net plus 19% VAT, the top tier of the scale. The from-€79 rate applies from 101 people.

How late can we still book?

You get a quote within 24 hours. December dates go early, so fix one in September rather than searching in November. Up to 30 days before the date, cancelling is free.

What happens in bad December weather?

The graffiti workshop stays outside at the legal wall, snow is more of a photo motif than a reason to cancel. If you want to be sure you're indoors, book action painting on canvas from the start.

What are good Christmas party ideas for a small company in Munich?

A format where everyone makes something themselves and takes something home: graffiti at the legal wall at Bahnwärter Thiel or in the Werksviertel, action painting on canvas in your own rooms, then dinner or the Christmas market on foot. It carries a party of 15 just as well as one of 60, as Pub.tech and Personio showed at the same spot.

All formats, prices and dates for companies are on the Christmas party Munich for companies page, and the overview of all team events in Munich shows what works outside the Christmas season.

Want to price your Christmas party for your exact group size? Send us headcount and preferred period via the request form on the Christmas party page and you'll get a price and date proposal within 24 hours.
