T.con team painting a large wall with nature motifs together in Munich's Werksviertel

In May 2023, T.con turned a lunch break in Munich's Werksviertel into a 40-square-metre shared piece. Alongside the large graffiti, each person also took home their own small piece of paper.

The brief

A lunch break is a tight window: big enough for a real result, too short for much setup or a long journey. In Munich's Werksviertel, T.con found a surface that fit exactly into that frame: large enough for a shared piece, yet doable within a lunch break.

How it went

Our team sums up the date like this: on that lunch break we made a large 40 m² graffiti. The whole group worked together on one surface instead of splitting off into individual small formats. We also prepared small-format paper that each person could take home at the end, a personal result alongside the large shared piece.

The result

By the end, a 40-square-metre graffiti stood in Werksviertel, plus a small piece of paper for each person. A Google review from Selmus Didi names "T.Con und die T.447 Crew" by name to this day, still findable years after the date.

A lunch break is enough for a shared piece if the surface fits the time: 40 square metres is doable, a mural spanning several storeys is not. Small take-aways are a simple addition on top, one that needs no time slot of its own.

Frequently asked questions about this project

How large can a shared graffiti piece get in one lunch break?

A shared piece of around 40 square metres is realistic in a single lunch break, if the whole group works on the same surface at the same time. T.con did exactly that in Munich's Werksviertel: a 40-square-metre graffiti, created in one lunch break. The surface size also decides how large the group can be without anyone just watching.

Does a graffiti team event in Werksviertel stay findable years later?

Yes, a Google review from Selmus Didi names T.con and the T.447 Crew by name to this day, years after the date in Munich's Werksviertel. The review stays public and remains findable for other searchers, no matter how long ago the event was.

“Despite complete lack of talent in the team, we created a result in the end that really everyone is proud of.”

“[…] 28 colleagues aged between 20 and 60, and all of us completely clueless. […] In the end we were really proud of ourselves. […] As a keepsake, Luca gave us photos taken with the drone.”

“[…] What surprised me was that you don't have to be an artist, because everyone gets individual attention and is encouraged to try things out. […] By the end we had created a great artwork and had a big grin on our faces.”
