Team events in Munich: what we've built at the Hall of Fame

In Munich, we've now delivered eight corporate team events, two of which we tell in full here: both took place at the same location, the Hall of Fame at Bahnwärter Thiel in the Schlachthofviertel. Cloudflare sprayed there at their summer team event on the legal wall, tracked by drone footage. At CRX Markets, every part of a large team got its own letter.

Where can you do Action Painting in Munich as a team event?

Anywhere your group has room, because we bring Action Painting with us. It doesn't need a hall with a wall, just a surface you can clear, indoors or outdoors. We come to you, in any district.

To be honest about it: our two documented Munich projects are graffiti events at the Hall of Fame, not Action Painting. The format is proven through other cities, for example 80 people in Hamburg's HafenCity. For Munich, that means: the format is mobile, the location is your call, and we're not claiming a reference here that doesn't exist yet. We plan Action Painting for 15 to 500 people, in 2 to 3 hours, flexible in flow.

How does a graffiti workshop run in Munich?

On a legal wall, where spraying is explicitly permitted. In Munich, that was the Hall of Fame at Bahnwärter Thiel in the Schlachthofviertel, both for Cloudflare and CRX Markets.

The flow has three qualities a wall you bring with you doesn't have. The wall is already there, so setup is shorter. It belongs to nobody you need to ask permission from beforehand. And it's wide enough for a whole team to work at once instead of taking turns. A graffiti workshop with us always happens outdoors on a real wall, budgeted at 2 to 3 hours, flexible depending on the occasion. At Cloudflare it ran as a summer team event with a breakdance finale; at CRX Markets as lettering built from letter groups.

Does that work with large groups in Munich too?

Yes, and CRX Markets is exactly that case. There, every part of a large team got its own letter of the lettering, everyone worked at the same time, and only together did it form the word on the wall.

That's the mechanic that matters for size. A format with one station creates a queue with a lot of people, and queues create spectators instead of participants. A format with individual surfaces per group scales instead, because only the number of surfaces changes, not the flow. For graffiti we plan groups from 10 to 1,000 people, for Action Painting 15 to 500.

Which companies have already worked with us in Munich?

Cloudflare and CRX Markets, both at the Hall of Fame at Bahnwärter Thiel. Cloudflare sprayed there at their summer team event and closed out the afternoon with a breakdance session in front of the finished piece.

CRX Markets approached it differently. There, a large team split the lettering letter by letter, and because each group took its letter in a different direction, the wording ended up genuinely funny. The artwork has stayed usable digitally since then, including as an email signature. Two companies, one wall, two completely different results.
