Indoor Team Event Munich: Action Painting in Your Own Rooms

GKM didn't cancel its summer day when it had to go under a roof: the company had booked the glass greenhouse at the Botanikum, painting happened barefoot on grass, action painting, graffiti and abstract painting side by side, and the pieces now hang in several departments. The greenhouse wasn't a fallback, it was the venue.

That is the thinking error in many lists for an indoor team event in Munich: they treat indoors as an emergency solution for rainy days. With us, indoors is its own format with its own technique, and the decision is made before the date, not in the morning at the window. Here are the criteria to make it.

1. Indoors means canvas, not wall

The graffiti workshop happens at a legal wall, and in Munich that wall is outdoors: the Hall of Fame at Bahnwärter Thiel or the surface in the Werksviertel. If you want to be indoors, you switch format to action painting: each small group stands at its own canvas, wax crayons, acrylic and guide stay the same as under the open sky. You lose no process, you swap the surface.

2. Acrylic is the standard, spray cans the exception

Indoors we work with acrylic. Lacquer and spray cans are possible on top, but only in large, open or well-ventilated spaces, as in the greenhouse at GKM. That stays the exception, not a general rule for every office. The weather forecast no longer plays a part in choosing the date, the room sets the frame.

3. Your space can be the space

The most common hurdle isn't the programme, it's finding a room. With action painting we come to your office, your courtyard or a hall, anywhere in Munich and across Bavaria. We lay out the surface and are liable for the protection we put down; the choice of tools follows the risk of mess. Nobody has to change clothes, gloves and a poncho are enough. Accessibility depends on the chosen space, not the format, tell us and we plan with it.

4. Group size decides the number of stations

Action painting runs from 15 people up to 500, one guide looks after every 50. We don't turn small groups away, you're then billed at the lowest tier of the scale. With more people, it's not the time that grows but the number of parallel canvases: two to three hours, whether 20 or 200 come. The piece grows in layers that need to dry, so one group paints, waits, then the next follows.

5. What stays behind

The canvases are yours and go home with you, we don't frame and don't deliver afterwards. Whether each person takes home their own piece or you work on one shared piece, you decide before the date. At GKM, single graffiti pieces in 50 by 70 format and five larger pictures with a department theme came out of it, and they hang in the office as a reminder today.

6. The price doesn't change indoors

The scale applies indoors as outdoors: €129 per person for 15 to 20 people, €109 up to 25, €99 up to 50, €89 up to 100, €79 from 101, individual from 251, net plus 19% VAT. Travel, material, protective covering and supervision are included, venue and food you book separately. Quote within 24 hours, free cancellation up to 30 days before the date.

7. And if it should be outdoors after all

Cold alone is no reason to go indoors: Personio brought around 60 people to the wall at Bahnwärter Thiel in December 2024, six teams, six words. Can you come to our office?

Yes, with action painting on canvas, if the space fits your group size. We bring material, guides and protective covering, and we set up and take down.

Does graffiti work indoors too?

No. The graffiti workshop takes place at a legal wall outdoors. Indoors it's action painting on canvas with wax crayons and acrylic.

What happens to paint and floor?

We cover the surface and are liable for the protection we put down. The paint lands on canvas, paper and covering, not on your floor.

Does anyone need to be able to paint?

No. A guide explains material and order, then it's yours. Whoever doesn't want to paint finds other tasks in the process.

For acrylic a normal office or seminar room with space for the canvases is enough. Spray cans only in large, well-ventilated rooms or halls.
