Three ways to get creative in Hamburg
Click through them. Each format runs two to three hours, we come to you in the city, and there is nothing for you to buy.
Graffiti
Each group picks a word and sprays it at roughly two by two metres. At the end the pieces lock into one another. On a legal wall we get the permit ourselves. When the weather or the date rules out an outside wall, we switch to a covered spot or push the date instead.
If rain is forecast, we move to a covered spot or push the date, the wall stays the wall.
Action Painting
Paint flies, music runs, nobody paints neatly. You work in small teams on several canvases at once, and because no wall is needed, a November date in Hamburg is as plannable as one in July. This is the format most teams here start with.
As an evening slot after the working day after the working day, the neon version runs under black light, the way BAT did it by the Alster with neon designs and murals in their own office.
Street-Art-Tour
An app-guided tour through real Hamburg street art where you decide how long you stand in front of a piece. This is the building block for days that are already full: before or after, with no setup, no paint and nobody carrying materials.
With no setup and no materials, the tour is the block that still fits into a seminar day when nothing else does.

Groups from 10 up to 1,000 people book a graffiti workshop on a legal wall, from the Schanze to Ottensen. Action painting starts at 15 people, indoors on canvas or outdoors on a legal wall, over 2 to 3 hours. Both formats include guides, all material and setup at your chosen Hamburg location, HafenCity, Altona and the Speicherstadt among the common picks. Team building Hamburg
Team building in Hamburg works best when the whole group does one thing together instead of splitting into spectators and doers. Our formats are built around that: everyone paints, everyone sprays, everyone walks the route. A graffiti workshop or action painting session gives a fixed group a shared task with a visible result at the end, while the street art tour lets several teams walk in parallel, each on their own route through the same neighborhoods. Companies pick based on group size and how much movement they want, standing at one wall or walking between stations. Four real Hamburg dates, with location, size and the logistics behind them.
Toyota invited influencers and staff into a photo studio in Ottensen. The work happened indoors on canvases, action painting and graffiti side by side. If you have no wall, you do not need one. A studio or an empty office floor is enough.
120 people in the Jupiter, the former Karstadt Sport department store right by Hamburg main station. The work ran in small groups on the roof terrace, and the teams took their pieces home. 120 people is the test of whether anyone at our events stands around waiting. Nobody stood around.
80 people, free action painting in the Cruise Terminal in HafenCity, looking out over the Elbe. The date fell in the cold season. It worked because the area was covered, and that is also the answer to the question we hear most often from Hamburg.
The event took place at the MS Bleichen, an old museum ship in Hamburg's museum harbour. The painting happened on the pier in front of it, with the graffiti wall and the action painting setup standing next to each other before the old loading doors. Old harbour as a backdrop, work in small groups side by side.
Where can you run a team event in Hamburg?
A team event in Hamburg needs no fixed venue, because we come to you with the wall, the paint and the crew. Three types of location have proven themselves, and we have run all three. Indoor spaces: Toyota worked on canvases in a photo studio in Ottensen, and an empty office floor works the same way. Roof terraces and courtyards: Rapid Data had 120 people on the roof terrace of the Jupiter by the main station, and EY-Parthenon worked on a roof terrace in HafenCity opposite the Elbphilharmonie. Unusual Hamburg backdrops: HANSAINVEST painted on the pier in front of the MS Bleichen. For a legal outside wall we take care of the permit. What your location needs is manageable: enough space, a solid surface and power nearby. If you are unsure whether your space works, send us a photo with your enquiry.
Travel and material transport to Hamburg and the surrounding area sit inside the per-person price, so nothing is added afterwards. You can cancel free of charge up to 30 days before the date, in case the date falls through.

How a team event in Hamburg runs with us

We go through space, surface and power with you. On a call that takes a few minutes. If it goes onto an outside wall, we obtain the permit ourselves, and you sign nothing for it.
Crew, paint and cans come with us, plus protective material for your surfaces and gloves for your hands. There is nothing on your shopping list, and nobody has to change clothes.
Large groups run in small teams in parallel, each with its own surface. That is why nobody stood around waiting even with 120 people in the Jupiter.
Depending on the format you take your works back to the office, or you get a drone photo of the whole group in front of the finished piece. What is possible at your event, we tell you beforehand. Not afterwards.
Action painting or graffiti?
If you pick graffiti
Pick graffiti when something large should end up on a wall and you want to bring the group together over one shared word. On a wall it only works outdoors, and in exchange it carries up to 1,000 people. If rain is forecast, we move to a covered spot or push the date.
If you pick action painting
Pick action painting when the date is indoors, the season is uncertain or you want every team to take its own picture home. It needs no wall and no permit, only space. In Hamburg this is the format most teams start with.

How you pay

If something gets in the way
Up to 30 days before, you cancel free of charge. If the weather in Hamburg turns, that only decides the format. We switch to a covered area, in Hamburg under a bridge for example, or we push the date.

Materials, guidance, setup and teardown are in the price, plus travel to Hamburg and the surrounding area. What you book and pay for yourself is the location. We suggest suitable walls and spots in Hamburg.
What does a team event in Hamburg cost?
A team event in Hamburg has two price logics, depending on the format. The graffiti workshop and action painting run on the same scale: it starts at €79 per person net, small groups sit at €129 per person, and large groups reach the entry price. The street art tour is a separate product and costs a flat €35 per person net, and above 251 people we put together an individual quote. Included in the workshop price are travel to Hamburg, material transport, paints and cans, protective material and supervision by our crew on site. For outside walls we also obtain the permit, at no extra charge. Three things move the price: how many people come, which format you choose and how demanding the location is. Small teams are welcome: billing starts from 10 people for graffiti, from 15 for action painting. The reason for the range is simple. Travel and setup happen once, and so does the crew, whatever the group size. The more people take part, the less each one carries of that. We answer your enquiry within 24 hours with a concrete quote.
Where can a team legally spray in Hamburg?
There is no single public wall in Hamburg that every team automatically ends up at, and we are not going to invent one. Instead we look at each enquiry on its own: does a legal outdoor wall work for your date, or does a different surface fit better? If no suitable outdoor wall is confirmed, or your date is too short notice, we switch to graffiti on canvas, same technique, usable indoors or outdoors, with no weather risk. Rapid Data took exactly that route on the roof terrace of the Jupiter next to the main station, and so did EY-Parthenon on the HafenCity rooftop. For companies that means nobody needs to know or apply for a Hamburg wall themselves, we handle the scouting and, where needed, the permit. Just tell us in your enquiry whether you would rather work indoors or outdoors, and we suggest the right option, wall, rooftop, or canvas.
What happens if it rains in Hamburg?
Rain does not cancel a team event in Hamburg, it only decides the format. A graffiti workshop on a wall always happens outdoors, so here we work with a plan B: we move the date, or we switch to a covered area, in Hamburg under a bridge for example. If the wall is not possible, we move to a covered spot instead. Action painting does both as well. Cold is less of a problem than people think. A company team did action painting with 80 people in the Cruise Terminal in HafenCity, covered and with a view of the Elbe, in the cold season. You do not have to change clothes, and gloves are almost always enough. We carry ponchos in case it does rain. Tell us at the enquiry whether the date can move, and we plan the fallback from the start.
How does a team event with 100 or more people in Hamburg work?
Large groups run in small parallel groups with us, not in a queue. At Rapid Data, 120 people were active at the same time in the Jupiter by Hamburg main station, split into small teams with their own surfaces. In HafenCity we looked after 80 people in the Cruise Terminal. The ceiling is 1,000 people for graffiti and 500 for action painting. That the number holds has already been shown outside Hamburg: for Helaba we ran a workshop with 1,000 people. The time frame stays at two to three hours even for large groups, because the work runs in parallel. Each group brainstorms its own word and sprays letters at roughly two by two metres, and at the end the pieces work into one another. For planning that means one to two weeks lead time is enough even for three-digit groups. Adding people works at short notice, fewer people is harder.
